So, today for Ranch Hands we went to botanic gardens in Buellton for a fencing crew. And sure enough, we were attacking the morning, in this cold January weather, through digging post holes with power tools and good ol'e man power. Auger and all, it's unbelievable that today, I can work as a part of something awesome like Ranch Hands. It was an amazing time and I couldn't ask for anything more.

2014 Handymen. 4 Trucks and Dump Trailer

For the past 6 months we have been working on the front grad house making it legal per the plans the city of Santa Barbara has given us. Finally we put the last touches on the house to get it ready for inspection. The inspector came and said we forgot one thing which was smoke alarms. We should have remembered something easy like that. We rescheduled the inspection. Yesterday the inspector came and the house passed. YESSSSS!!!

I smell success in the air down here in Santa Barbara!

It doesn't seem that long ago that I was lost, lonely, and miserable. My life had no meaning or purpose. I just drifted, trying to survive. Today my life is so different! I have a reason to get up and attack my day with purpose. I lead withmy heart instead of hiding from myself and the flaws I have. I am able to work on those flaws and can enjoy more about my life than I thought possible. I owe so much to the Ranch and all the help I've received and continue to receive. I am surrounded by a compassionate brotherhood that became an extension of my family, while helping me to reunite with the family I abused and neglected for so long. Without the Ranch, and the love and support of my family; I don't know how bad my life would be or even if I would be alive. I just know that it would be nothing compared to what I am blessed with today.

For the past couple days we have been stuccoing the back grad house. I never knew that stuccoing could be so much fun. It's not fun when you are doing it alone, but when I am doing with my brothers while listening to some good country music we get in a rhythm and it has been a blast. Grateful to be a ranch hand.

Today, Jean Claude and myself were working at J. Woeste's and got to finish up these sweet tables! The previous ones were complete trash from years of punishment, so a quick call to Ranch Hands, a day and a half of work, and Pow! New tables for Mr Woeste to display his works of art, or "treasures" as he call them. And if I may say so myself, these tables are treasures in themselves. Ya baby!!!! I love working for Ranch Hands.

I got to do a really fun and unique job with ranch hands today at the buellton botanicle gardens. Jean Claude and I got to re-paint the whales on a Chumash mural in the park where people walk by and see. It was an awsome feeling to see how much better it looked when we were done.

Today bill and I went on a work crew to take stumps out of the ground and to level out soil. Our client rented an excavator for us to complete the job efficiently. It was so much fun driving a machine that has power like that. We loved ripping those stumps out of the ground and then lifting them with the excavator into the back of our truck. I am so fortunate to have a job where we get the opportunities to learn new things and have these kinds of experiences.

Today was a good day working for ranch hands. We arrived at the dump with just seconds before closing time. I was grateful Ranch Hands had just bought a new dump trailer. We would have been late leaving the dump if we did not have the dumping feature. I was glad to be outside and using the master control of the trailer, with ease, I pushed the button and the hydraulics dumped the load with zero struggle. I am grateful for my life and continuing to grow and be a better person everyday, and the people I have in my life to help me. I am also grateful for Ranch Hands , the job and the opportunity to learn new skills daily.

Today was another awesome day working in Los Alamos. We have been demoing, painting, framing, plumbing and all the other great things that come along with being a Ranch Hand. I'm so grateful when I take a step back and I see where my life is today. I love to work with my brothers and I look forward to each work crew.

Demolition work

Today was my first day working with Ranch Hands and it was an awesome day at work tearing down some old fence and putting new posts and slats in. I feel so lucky to spend my last month in town working with my brothers and attacking the day! We certainly attacked the heck out of it today and I learned something new that I can use in the future. I am so grateful for the gifts I have in my life today!
